Monami has launched footwear collection containing the heritage of Monami BP 153 in collaboration with the original action sports & lifestyle brand Vans.

There are two types of collaboration products which are classic footwear silhouette of Vans, “Authentic HC” and “Old Skool”. The signature colors black & white and logo play of Monami BP 153 are mingle with entire shoes.

“Authentic”, designed with Vans symbolic checkerboard pattern, Monami 153 label is attached to the upper of shoes and it’s possible to cut the back counter, so it can be worn in mule style depending on your preference. “Old Skool” is also designed with 153 icon and logo painted to upper and midsole of shoes and the identity is expressed in a combination of black and white colors. Both “Authentic” and “Old Skool” stand out in that they have 153 details on their shoelaces.

In addition, to commemorate this collaboration, Monami also carried out an artwork project with sneaker artist “Rudy” about taking Monami X Vans collaboration products apart.

A Monami official said, “It is designed to give consumers a new experience through collaboration between the two brands that lead creative DIY culture in each field,” adding, “We hope consumers enjoy daily life by expressing their own personality with this footwear collection that reinterprets the iconic BP 153.
