Monami is transforming to
reflect consumer tastes and needs.
Monami is Korean national stationery brand which is famous for ballpoint pen. Recently,
it expanded the colors of its steady-selling products “FX ZETA” and “Plus Pen
3000”.
FX ZETA is a product released in 2010 via 3 years of research. It is perfect
for smooth and neat writing by using low viscosity ink. It offers
comfortable grip even for a long writing session with a rubber around the pen
body.
Newly launched package of FX ZETA assorted colors pack is available in 13 different
colors from basic colors (black, blue, red) to colorful 10 colors including
orange, green, pink etc. Vibrant colors are suited not only for writing but
also for decorating bullet journal and drawing.
A Monami official said, “After the launch of FX ZETA assorted colors pack,
sales of FX ZETA product line have been increased by more than 150% compared to
the month before adding colors.”
Monami Plus Pen 3000 added 12 colors to existing 48 colors, finally composed 60
colors. It consists of 54 colorful water-based ink and 6 pigment
type ink that does not spread in water after being completely dried.
This product is ideal for professional and diverse artwork such as watercolor
and drawing, and now receiving favorable responses from SNS, online communities,
even overseas influencers, Monami said.
Monami also operates a space called “Ink Lab” in Korea for younger generation who
likes to experience.
In Ink Lab, consumers can make their own ink colors by blending various colors
of ink. The completed ink recipe will be stored in a database with its own
name, and the particular ink can be purchased through name search in the future.
Ink Lab is gaining traction with the cumulative number of consumers who experienced it
