Stationery company Monami announced on the 26^th the release of the Monami X Lie Sang-bong Collaboration Edition to reinterpret the Monami look through collaboration with Lie Sang-bong, a world-class designer representing Korea.

Monami planned the Monami X Lie Sang-bong Collaboration Edition with the goal of expanding to the fashion category beyond customers’ imagination based on the company’s expertise built by collaborating with brands in various fields. This is the first project of Monami Fashion Lab, which is based on the concept of "supernormal" to turn ordinariness into specialness by focusing on the essence.

Monami, a leading stationery brand, and Korea’s fashion virtuoso Lie Sang-bong reinterpreted the “black and white” Monami look by adding sophistication and trendiness.

The products were designed under the concept of “Witty Minimal Daily Look” for Generation MZ in their 20s and 30s. Through a witty adaptation of Monami’s logo and symbol as well as the design of the Monami 153 Ballpoint Pen, the collection, while being faithful to the basics, expresses the individuality of the Monami look.

The Monami X Lie Sang-bong Collaboration Edition features 18 pieces ranging from formal to casual wear for diverse styling, such as △basic fit/relaxed fit/loose fit female crop tees, △standard collared/ relaxed fit/loose fit shirts, △skirts, △pants, and △caps.

In particular, the “signature pocket detail” is worth noting in this collection. The special pocket, which is designed to carry a pen stably, conveys the symbolic image of Monami that has been used by people to record every moment of ordinary lives.

The Monami X Lie Sang-bong Collaboration Edition will be on sale from 11:00 a.m. on the day through Monami Mall, Monami’s official online mall, and MUSINSA online store. Monami Concept Store Seongsu opens a separate exhibition space until July 16 where customers can experience the collection items in person.

“During the long period of ten months from planning to launch, I put my heart and soul into expressing the simple design and basic beauty of Monami. I ask for customers’ interest in and support for the collection as it is an outcome of painstaking effort to express the value of essence while being faithful to the basics," designer Lie Sang-bong said.

Following the first launch, Monami will additionally release cardigan, turtleneck, knit, and eco-leather shirt products for autumn and winter during the second half of this year.
